Blossom Music Center was the scene of over three decades of nostalgia on Tuesday night as the Goo Goo Dolls and Dashboard Confessional ripped through setlists filled with songs that promised a journey through our collective youths.
The Summer Anthem Tour has crossed boundaries and generations, bringing together two bands with heartfelt lyrics and storytelling.
Opening with “The Best Deceptions,” Dashboard Confessional brought immediate energy and emotional depth. Chris Carrabba’s voice hasn’t seemed to age at all since breaking onto the scene with Swiss Army Romance in 2000 and his charisma and stage presence remain captivating.
After a set filled with hits and deeper cuts, the Goo Goo Dolls arrived and showed why they are a timeless act. The evolution of their music over the last nearly 30 years since Dizzy Up The Girl in 1998 has shown their ability to appeal to the masses over an incredibly long time.
