Adam Boose, bassist for indie-pop quartet Brandtson, offers his shipwrecked soundtrack.
1. Neutral Milk Hotel, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
A surreal, epic freakout, which will no doubt inspire our new religion. We don’t get it either.
2. Depeche Mode, Music for the Masses
Both confessional and dance-tastic, this classic record will accompany the nights when “Strangelove” is the only strange we’re getting.
3. Coldplay, A Rush of Blood to the Head
For those lazy days of spear-fishing and coconut-cracking. Also works well with ruminating.
4. Jawbreaker, Dear You
For getting drunk on rotten papaya juice and writing bottle-messages to exes.
5. Slayer, Reign in Blood
The flames rise, the wild lamb is consumed. This disc will shatter eardrums when the island gets all Lord of the Flies.
