The opening night concert at Negative Space Gallery will feature three acts: Nois, a saxophone quartet from Chicago; the Cleveland-based experimental Miralia/Stranahan duo; and the Detroit-based band saajtak.
Experimental acts such as Sound Energy, andPlay [pictured], Berrow Duo and New Morse Code. Philadelphia-based, drummer Leo Suarez and electronics manipulator madam data will team up for a special improvised set on Saturday, June 8, at CODA. Improvising duos Dykes & Young and ParkJones will perform as well.
The festival’s soloists are singer Stephanie Lamprea, who’ll present two world premieres at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, at Praxis Fiber Workshop, and pianist Ju-Ping Song, whose set at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, at the Bop Stop will feature a David Lynch-inspired work.
For the closing concert, which takes place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, at the Bop Stop, the locally based new music group No Exit will premiere new music by high school students Mya Vandegrift and Emma Eddy. Both composers were selected for CUSP’s CoLab project that aims to “provide professional opportunities and mentorship to young female and non-binary composers in the Northeast Ohio region.”
Single tickets for Re:Sound shows are $12, or $8 for seniors and students. Festival passes are available for $35, or $25 for seniors and students. Purchase tickets at the door or in advance through Brown Paper Tickets.
