Update: Pre-sale tickets for Jason Mraz’s June 8 concert with Contemporary Youth Orchestra at Severance Hall sold so well that the concert’s promoter has added a second date. Mraz and the orchestra will also perform at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 9 at Several Hall. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Original Post: Known for hits such as “I’m Yours” and “I Won’t Give Up,” singer-songwriter Jason Mraz has sold out venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden and London’s 02 Arena.

One thing he hasn’t done is perform with an orchestra. But earlier today, he announced that he’ll play with the 115-piece Contemporary Youth Orchestra at 7 p.m. on June 8 at Severance Hall. It’ll mark his first full-length live performance with an orchestra.

Founded in 1995 by Music Director Liza Grossman, Contemporary Youth Orchestra is reportedly the only youth orchestra in the country dedicated to the study and performance of contemporary orchestral literature. CYO has performed world premiere concertos with local and national acts as well as with members of the Cleveland Orchestra and college and conservatory professors.

Tickets to the concert go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2.
