Cleveland is about to get another concert venue. When the Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield opens on Dec. 18, it will feature a stage that will play host to rock bands and comedians. Live Nation will assist the facility in bringing in national acts. As part of the grand opening celebration, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts perform at 8 p.m. on opening night. Formerly of the punk act the Runaways, Jett had a successful solo career in the ‘80s and has just released a new solo album. The Rocksino also has booked ’80s acts Nigh Ranger (Dec. 27) and Huey Lewis and the News (Jan. 24). Tickets for all the shows go on sale at Ticketmaster tomorrow at 10 a.m.

So excited for this! No other casino in Ohio has what the rocksino does. The production director and entire hard rock staff is changing the whole landscape and energy of northeast Ohio. They know exactly what they are doing and they do it kick ass. I’m excited that they also heavily support the local music scene and have already had and are booking some great gigs to play at the hard rock cafe stage. This should be fantastic. Cleveland and Northfield Ohio need this energy!
