Meet the Band: Angelisa Crognale (vocals, guitars), Laura Ackerman (bass), Steph Burke (vocals, guitars), and Becky McMahon (drums)
Grrrl Power: While certainly influenced by the ’90s riot grrrl scene, Cleveland’s Early Girl are as original as they are retro, infusing a mixed bag of influences into a fresh, cohesive sound. “We have definitely evolved,” says Burke, emphasizing her band’s “intertwining guitars,” “driving rhythm section,” and “layered vocals.” “If you haven’t been to an Early Girl show recently,” she says, “be sure to bring an extra pair of socks.”
Bring Them Home to Mom: The band will convene at Negative Space Studio this summer to work on the follow-up to 2009’s Harrowed Ground.
