Meet the Band: Joey Graceffo (vocals and guitar), Richie L. Monty (drums), J. Edward Graley (bass),

and Cody Jankowski (guitar).

Get Creative: Before settling on a “creative metal” sound, Graceffo and Monty tested out a few different styles of music. After hooking up with Jankowski and Graley, they homed in on their mix of “pure rock and creative metal.”

Want the Full Synical Experience? See Them Live: Synical Son play out as often as they can. It’s their best way to build a fan base — y’know, suck you into their vortex and whatnot. “We are really trying to capture that feeling of when you listen to [us], you get caught up in [our] world,” says Graceffo.

Sharp Turns Ahead: “Our band approaches songs from the angle that we try to have good driving riffs along with good melodies over them,” says Graceffo. So what does that lead to? “What rock should sound like today,” offers Jankowski.

Fill ‘Er Up: On their way to a gig a while back, the guys were talking to a group of girls at a gas station. Guess where the ladies were heading? Yep, to Synical Son’s show that night. “They recognized us and demanded pics and autographs,” recalls Jankowski. “After our set, we stayed and drank with them. Partying with our fans is always a great feeling.”

Why They Say They Matter:

“The music scene needs a band that has a different sound but captures all the elements that you love from the past,” says Graceffo.

Why We Say They Matter:

Though they’ve recorded only two songs for their upcoming debut album, the band’s live sets give you a pretty good idea what they’re all about.
