For years, local singer-guitarist Bobby Vaughn has performed and recorded as the Promise Hero. He recently announced that he’ll ditch the Promise Hero moniker and simply release music and perform under his own name. He just completed recording his debut EP in Nashville with Will Pugh (singer of the pop-rock group Cartel).

He also just announced that he’ll perform with Daniel Palmentera, Harrison Mills and Joy Joyce, the respective singers in Cleveland punk rock bands My Mouth Is the Speaker, the Grievance Club and Joe Joyce Band, on April 25 at the Happy Dog.

All the acts will perform individual acoustic sets and will then reconvene at the night’s end to perform as the Handsome Boys, a special supergroup that will play their favorite songs by the pop punk act Saves the Day. The group’s name is a reference to a Saves the Day song.

The concert begins at 9 p.m.
