The local rock band Mr. Carnivore will celebrate the release of the new music video for the track “Paradise” with a special show on Thursday at the Music Box Supper Club. Doors open at 6 p.m., and Mr. Carnivore takes the stage at 8 p.m. followed by the Chicago-based band Holly.

The song is a sarcastic response to the people that use cliches such as “just living the dream” or “just another day in paradise.”

“The laid back vibe and swelling guitar melodies paint a picture of pardise, but like most things in life, there is more than meets the eyes,” reads a press release about the track.

The video features footage taken on a family vacation to Hilton Head, SC. Both Jacob and Nathan LaGuardia shot the video, and Jacob LaGuardia edited it.

Tickets to the Music Box show are $8 advance, $10 day of show.
