For the past decade local rockers Vanity Crash have embraced glam rock and all its trappings with their theatrical live performances, initially as the house band in Cleveland Public Theatre’s production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and then as a fixture on the local scene.

With the passing of glam icon David Bowie, the group has been plenty busy and played three sold-out “Brunch with Bowie” shows at the Bop Stop and a sold-out “Bowie Memorial” at the Beachland. This weekend, it’ll play one more Bowie tribute as it will perform the Thin White Duke’s songs at a special concert at the Five O’Clock Lounge.

It’ll also have fresh pressings of its latest album, Love, as well as shirts, hoodies, shot glasses and a VC pick necklace for sale.

The show starts at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday when Stupid Beautiful Heaven opens with an acoustic set. Admission is free.

Jeff has been covering the Cleveland music scene for more than 25 years now. On a regular basis, he tries to talk to whatever big acts are coming through town. And if you're in a local band that he needs to hear, email him at jniesel@clevescene.com.
