Way back in November of last year, the local Pink Floyd tribute act Wish You Were Here played a benefit concert at the Akron Civic Theatre. Yesterday, band leader Eric Sosinski presented a check representing the proceeds of that concert to Dr. Sarah Friebert of the Akron Children’s Hospital Palliative Care Center and Pam Czech of Cassidy’ Hope Foundation. Benefit organizer Dave Lasco was also on hand to accept the presentation of a whopping $8,067.68 from the Akron Civic Theatre.
The causes are particularly good ones: Akron Children’s Hospital Palliative Care Center provides care to children and young adults with complex, chronic or serious conditions, and Cassidy’s Hope Foundation promotes childhood cancer awareness and assists families that it affects.
