Last week, local soul/pop singer Lauren Lanzaretta celebrated the release of her new music video for the tune “Wounded Man” with a party at Red Space, the art gallery located inside Hot Cards World Headquarters. For the music video, she filmed a live performance at the Cleveland Heights jazz club Nighttown (the club looks terrific in the video) and then shot a segment at the Tremont bar the Flying Monkey. Local actors act out the song’s narrative about a “wounded man” struggling to leave behind his girlfriend. It’s a soulful tune that draws from old school influences such as Aretha Franklin. Lanzaretta’s full-length debut, Naked Soul, arrives next month. Check out the video here.

WOW! She’s the Real deal – she’s got that smoky, soulful voice that blues singing demands. First time I’ve heard of her & I’m very impressed. As someone born & bred in C-Town, I wish her tremendous sucess!
Good luck to her, I hope she does very well.
