On Saturday night, J. Cole brought “The Fall Off” Tour to a sold-out Rocket Arena crowd. The last time the North Carolina native toured in Cleveland was two years ago during his co-headlining tour with Drake, so this solo tour was a long-awaited return. It was truly a one man show, as Cole opted to forgo opening acts altogether. Consequently, the arena’s energy and anticipation were palpable as the lights dimmed at showtime. Cole appeared in the middle of the arena to open the show with “39 Intro” from his latest album, “The Fall Off”. He slowly made his way through the crowd connecting with fans as he approached the stage.

Once he reached the main stage, J. Cole gave a high octane performance of “Two Six” before launching into more hits and deep cuts from “The Fall Off.” Throughout the show he performed a career-spanning set list including fan favorites from “A Sideline Story,” “2014 Forest Hills Drive,” and many more.

At one point during an emotional performance of “Love Yourz,” from the classic album “2014 Forest Hills Drive,” Cole broke down in tears, moved by the energy and response from the crowd. At one point he could barely finish the song, and the crowd filled in, by singing every lyric of the deeply personal track. J. Cole praised Cleveland, calling it “One of the best crowds he’s ever seen for any Cole show.”
