Atlanta-based Mastodon headlined a trio of bands at the Agora on October 20th.  Founded in 2000, the metal outfit has maintained a steady lineup since its inception, with longtime lead guitarist Brent Hinds leaving the band in 2025, five months prior to his unexpected death.  Frontman Troy Sanders introduced the lineup to the near-capacity crowd, thanking them for coming out to support their tour stop here in Cleveland, which was to ostensibly promote their new record, Marrow Deep, released a few months ago.

The quintet played for two hours as the main act, with openers Alcest and Deafheaven providing solid support with half-hour sets prior to Mastodon taking the stage at 9:00.

Here’s all the action we caught.
