Yes

No real surprises on the list of nominees for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. Prog rockers Yes were nominated for the first time but that shouldn’t come as a shock. The band stopped at the Rock Hall this summer when it came through town and several Rock Hall execs were spotted at the band’s Cain Park concert. The list includes the usual eclectic mix of music, including everything from pop (Linda Ronstadt) to grunge (Nirvana) and hip-hop (LL Cool J and N.W.A.). Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens, the Replacements, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Deep Purple, Hall and Oates, KISS, the Meters, Link Wray and the Zombies round out the list. The ceremony takes place in New York in April.

Jeff has been covering the Cleveland music scene for more than 25 years now. On a regular basis, he tries to talk to whatever big acts are coming through town. And if you're in a local band that he needs to hear, email him at jniesel@clevescene.com.

  1. “The ceremony takes place in New York in April” Isnt it about time that CLEVELAND hosts this event?

  2. Cleveland does host the event, but I think it’s only once every four years, or something ridiculous like that.
