Slayer and Marilyn Manson play Time-Warner Amphitheater at Tower City Tuesday, July 31. Bleeding Through opens the show at 7 p.m. Slayer and Manson will co-headline. Both will play 70-minute sets. Slayer’s set to take the stage at 8 p.m. Manson — who discovered Slayer at a Quonset Hut when he was a pubescent young lad in Canton — should hit he stage 9:40-ish. “People ask me how I think this tour is going to go,” Slayer guitarist Kerry King told Scene this week . “And it depends what Manson brings to the party. He could play a set from Holy Wood on, or mix it up and hit the whole audience. We [just saw the band] at a festival. Four songs in, they played the song I wanted to see, ‘Irresponsible Hate Anthem.’ And I’m like, ‘Cool, I can leave now.'” Funny he should mention it … Scene has set lists from both bands. Manson’s heavy on material from his tepid new disc, but he’s playing his seminal nu-metal rippers too. Read on to check out both set lists.

I was at the Atlanta show on Saturday, and the Slayer set was loud, hard, amazing and longer than posted here.
They didn’t play Threshold but in addition to what’s listed here they rocked: Hell Awaits, Ghosts of War, & Bitter Peace.
Slayer (as expected) blew Manson away. He shouldn’t ever play with them again. Watching Manson after Slayer was absolutely pathetic. It was a goth opera buzz kill after the greatest thrash band of all time.
fuck this why in the hell is manson headling this concert?there was going to be a nother alliance tour but manson didnt want that he wanted the tour to focus more on him cause he dosent co headline eny more WTF if i was a member of slayer i would of flew across that table and beat the snot outta that emo/goth faggot.where dose manson get off saying he wants to headline over slayer. and anther thing this concert going to be crazy you cant mix emos with hardcore metal heads.
Just got back from the show in Detroit. Manson was good on his Dead To The World Tour in 97, now he should not be touring with the badest metal band SLAYER that has ripped up every tour they have been on since 82!!!! Manson did not deserve to headline this tour or any other tours in the future with that rubbish he is playing!!! He demanded to headline cause he don’t play during the day but it should be harder trying to play after SLAYER. SLAYER hands down stole the show. Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman are the badest guitar players on this planet!!! Manson go tour with Korn!!
saw them at Xcel last night aug14th… not a vicious pit for slayer, but a few decent pits combining a few times.Good performance, not long enuff….manson was just a buncha kids jumping around, it did kinda look like a korn show..manson put on an ok show (I’m being generous).good stage show, but very hard to watch after slayer. It was my 1st manson show & maybe my 12th slayer show…and once again they kill!!…i went in open minded never seeing manson, but after seeing him fall on his face during his desperate attempt to upstage SLAYER, the hardest band in the F’in world…i lost respect for him..turning your amplifiers to max doesn’t cut it, better setlist woulda helped…too many love ballads.(rock&drugs were ok)..as for the manson kids thinking they were gonna sneak a good spot on the floor during the slayer onslaught, they were destroyed..these idiots bring their underage girlfriends into the pit and get angry when someone bumps into them…..the boys in the pit aren’t gonna treat you like the jocks at school..get the F outta the pit!!…its no place for little girls, celfones, or cameras…if you or your shit gets destroyed, its your fault!…anyway, slayer was worth all $62…..FUCKIN SLAYER….’til next year
