Without a doubt, the Baltimore duo known as Spank Rock –MC Naeem Juwan and his producer, XXXchange — likes it nasty, rapping about the women scattered throughout their home like Caligula’s concubines: “One on the futon, one in the shower, one in the backseat, three this past hour.” Sexed-up, glitched-out, red-eyed, and bass-dropped, they are as much about gettin’ girls’ legs in the air as their hands up on their debut, YoYoYoYoYo. They know how to get a party started and asses poppin’. You just can’t help it when Juwan is in your face, smiling widely and coyly slithering in B-boy glasses and skin-tight jeans, while XXXchange morphs the Nintendo-bop into reverberating madness. Steeped in Miami bass, old-school hip-hop braggadocio, and electronic minimalism, these boys could school anyone on the benefits of gettin’, goin’, and bein’ down.
