Soon, America will be listening to nothing but American Idol contestants – and not just the winners.
This year, Northeast Ohio has already seen appearances by Daughtry, the macho modern-rock asshole who finished fourth in season five, as well as the winner of that season, Taylor Hicks, who’s super-classy but d-u-l-l. Now it’s Bo Bice’s turn.
Bice was season four’s runner-up, finishing beind multi-platinum bombshell Carrie Underwood. He was the least likely dude to show up on American Idol. Not only did the Alabamba native rock the Allmans’ “Whipping Post,” but he also employed Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” as his theme song. But even this dude secured a major label deal, releasing The Real Thing onRCA at the tail end of 2005.

  1. Taylor Hicks is dull? He lights up a stage with his electrifying performances. Everyone is on their feet singing and dancing. Go to one of his concerts, I did. Then come back and let us know how dull he is, NEVER WILL BE!

  3. Oh yeah, I’ll be catching tomorrow’s show in Kent with Bo! This is my 8th trip from Ontario to catch Bice in action. See him LIVE once and you’re hooked.

  4. Would you please explain why you think Taylor Hicks is dull. Most people who have seen him on TV, interviews (although the interviewERs have been dull,dull,dull) and certainly in concert find him anything but dull. If you haven’t seen him in concert, try to–I think you will really be pleasantly surprised.

  7. I hope all people in the state of Ohio are not as rude as you are. I never thought I would find myself defending Chris Daughtry, but you stepped over the line in describing all three of these southern gentlemen. You must be having a hard time in life to write such a nasty article like this. Taylor Hicks is anything but dull and Bo Bice is one of the nicest people in the world. Yes, they are all from the South where people don’t feel it’s necessary to put others down to build themselves up. I hope you feel better after getting this off your chest. Hi; Loved your comments, just wanted to tell you that Taylor Hicks is somewhat of an introvert when he is not performing,but hope you have had the chance to see him in concert, he is anything but “Dull”…You are so right about him being classy, and he is also very smart and just a real nice person.Have a good day.

  9. I totally agree with you about Chris Daughtry being a total boring asshole!!! Now Taylor Hicks is one classy guy and has putting on TERRFIC CONCERTS…I like the dudes voice…different….Blue Eyed Blues…is a hard sell….rockers (even imitation ones like Chris Daughtry are a dime a dozen!!!)The only two CD’s I have bought are Taylor Hicks, Clay Atkins who came in second and that is it!!!
