The Music of Cream — 50th Anniversary Tour Coming to Playhouse Square in November

Cream — singer-guitarist Eric Clapton, drummer Ginger Baker and the late singer-bassist Jack Bruce — broke up years ago, but drummer Kofi Baker and bassist Malcom Bruce, sons of Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce, respectively, have teamed up with Clapton’s nephew Will Johns to keep the band’s legacy alive.

Last year, they took their tour, the Music of Cream, to Australia and New Zealand.

They’ve just announced that the current incarnation, the Music of Cream — 50th Anniversary World Tour, will come to the States this fall to mark 50 years since the original lineup’s farewell U.S. tour of 1968.

The band will perform classic tracks such as “Sunshine of Your Love,” “Crossroads,” “Spoonful” and “White Room,” and the concert will include never-before-seen footage and photos of the original band. The multi-media concert experience has been especially created for the 50th Anniversary Tour.

“We had such an amazing response to our first tour in Australia and New Zealand that we’ve spent some considerable time adding to the show,” says Bruce in a press release announcing the tour. “Now, we not only have this amazing legacy of music to play, but an opportunity to share some wonderful insights and stories with our audience…a backstage pass like no other, if you will.”

“We also have a few surprises in store that we know people are going to really respond to, so we can’t wait to be on the road again playing these shows across North America this fall,” says Baker.
