After one final Trenchcoat show in 2011, Adams picked up the guitar and started writing songs in the vein of Johnny Cash, Tom Waits and Bob Dylan.
In 2015, he formed Tom Adams & the Last Resort, a group he likens to “his own personal Plastic Ono Band.”
“[The group] is comprised basically of whomever happens to be on hand at any given moment,” says Adams in a press release about the band’s new album, Super Duper Doomsday.
The album comes out this week, and the group plays a release party at 8 p.m. on Saturday at Jimmy’s Place Upstairs in Olmsted Falls.
Local singer-songwriter Meganne Stepka will open the show.
