Songs of Anarchy: Vol. 2
(Columbia)
In the biker drama Sons of Anarchy, a poignant song will often play during a particularly dramatic scene (usually involving a death or betrayal). The music adds another dimension to the show and this collection of some covers (including tracks like Jane’s Addiction’s cover of “Sympathy for the Devil” and Franky Perez & the Forest Rangers’ rendition of “Higher Ground”) compiles some of show’s best tunes.
Led Zeppelin
Celebration Day
(Swan Song/Atlantic)
Released in a variety of formats, this CD/DVD/Blu-ray captures the English band’s 2007 reunion show in all its proper glory. The guys don’t play with the same recklessness they once did in the ‘70s but they’re in good form here. The deluxe version of this release includes behind-the-scenes footage and offers a glimpse at a pre-show rehearsal.
Graham Parker & the Rumour
Three Chords Good
(Primary Wave)
This veteran singer-songwriter sounds rejuvenated on this, his first album with the Rumour in 31 years.
