Back in February, we told you about local singer-songwriter Allan Licht’s mission to re-imagine Cleveland’s theme song with the original tracks — “Cleveland’s Got It All” and “Have a Merry Cleveland Christmas.”
The first of the two tunes hit YouTube last month, offering up a healthy dose of locally inspired lyrics and accolades abound for “the city with soul and rock and roll.”
Give Licht’s tune a listen and let us know in the comments below if this jingle has what it takes to be Cleveland’s new theme song.
“Cleveland’s Got It All” was recorded by Frederick Davis, featuring Dwayne Dickman on guitar, Michael Fisher on trumpet, Tim Keehn on trombone, Bob Esterle on sax, and Kickie Taylor on background vocals.

Well, everything except a championship sports team. But I’m sure all that will change once Issue 7 passes and our poor, poor owners can afford to stuff more money in their pockets.
great song……….great singer…………let’s hear it on the radio now!
Oh no. :(. Please don’t air this
Bryan, it’ll grow on you. Think of it as a retro type arrangement. It’s fun, it’s upbeat, it touts great things about Cleveland, and it’s a catchy tune 🙂
Love it! Very catchy, and has a lot of energy. I have to say it has a lot more going for it than the “This is Cleveland” song (if you can call it that).
I once again listened to Mr. Licht’s song and it’s truly an amazing piece for a city song. You can’t beat the tag line Cleveland’s Got It All. The three words, “This is Cleveland” doesn’t even mean anything on there own merit. Looking further into Mr. Licht’s background I discovered his success as a writer and he’s one of the best in the business. He’s written numerous songs that have been recorded by other artists, and many for non-profit organizations like The Ronald McDonald House in Cleveland, St. Judes, and many others. What I like about his philosophy (found at his Cleveland’s Got It All Facebook page) is that his Cleveland project is to give all Clevelander’s a song that is identifiable with the city. His competitor Positively Cleveland’s song is not even a Cleveland song for one, secondly, it’s musically a bit of a “downer” and melancholy. It’s anathema to what a city song should do-and that is to inspire and promote the city. Positively Cleveland’s video is very amateurish, and it’s all very disappointing. Once again it feels like an organization trying to do something for the city and missing the mark. Positively Cleveland’s campaign, though well intentioned, is all very superficial. I feel it sucks the heart right out of the city, whereas Mr. Licht’s song and mission supercharges the city. His piece is poignant, nostalgic, and it captures the essence of who we are. It makes you want to visit and live in Cleveland. Here’s a song I can actually singalong to. Yes, Yes, Yes, Cleveland’s Got It All!
eagerly awaiting the release of the music video for “Cleveland’s Got It All”
RE: Eagerly awaiting-thanks for your interest, and we’re hoping to be finished shooting for this within 30 days. It’s going to be exciting and from what my producer tells me, if all goes as planned we’ll have a nice handful of celebrities in it. You can always visit Cleveland’s Got It All Facebook page for updates.
Allan
Someone with the name MARSHMALLOW used my name, but it’s someone else. Perhaps my producer. I can’t say I disagree with them though 🙂
