Friday, Feb. 13: OgreFest – The only thing better than beer is high potent beer. That’s why we look forward to the Brew Kettle’s Ogrefest. This year’s installment marks the 11th year that the Strongsville brewery and restaurant has hosted the affair. Most of the beers are more than 10 percent alcohol and several barrel-aged beers will be served. We advise drinking with caution as the potent beers can really knock you on your ass. The event kicks off today and lasts through Feb. 22. (Niesel)Friday, Feb. 13: Chocolate Delights – ’Tis the season for chocolates and sweet stuff, and tonight at Bliss, an event hosted by our fine friends at the local promotion company Contrast High, you can sample an array of chocolates — and have a few drinks while you’re at. The event is a followup to last year’s party and admission is only $2. DJ White Rims (Darryl Dickerson), MC Uster (Marcia Custer) and WRUW’s Rachel H (Ravage Hunt) will provide the tunes, and Mahall’s will serve up special ’90s-themed cocktails for the evening. The cocktails will be named after “famous ’90s couples,” so we’re guessing you’ll be able to order a Kurt and Courtney, a Justin and Britney or a Gavin and Gwen. Vintage clothing, focusing on ’90s styles, will be on sale. It starts at 9 p.m. (Niesel)Saturday, Feb. 14 : Cupid Undie Run – You gotta be either crazy or really tough to participate in today’s Cupid’s Undie Run in your skivvies. The event serves as a charity event too, raising money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. The party gets going at noon at the South Side in Tremont. Runners step off at 2:30 p.m. and the party continues until 4. Registration is $55. (Niesel)Saturday, Feb. 14: Monster Jam – Feld Motor Sports’ More Monster Jam, a tour that features some of the best-known monster truck drivers in the country, arrives at Quicken Loans Arena today for its annual competition. The show has a brand-new concept and will include the debut of two new competition vehicles — extreme Monster Jam Speedsters and Monster Jam ATVs. That’s fine with Bailey Shea Williams, who drives the popular-with-the-kids Scooby Doo truck. Though she grew up doing dance and gymnastics, she rode ATVs as a kid. “I was a closet tomboy,” says Williams, who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when she was a child and was told she wouldn’t live long. “I hated being a girlie girl and dressing up. I started racing when I turned 15 and everyone thought I was a boy so I changed to a girlie girl that day. As soon as I switched to a male sport, that’s when I became a girl.” She’ll be making her Monster Jam debut. The event takes place today at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and tomorrow at 1 and 6 p.m. Tickets start at $20 for adults. It’s a good example of what a terrific dancer she is. Rascal, who also does a bit of modeling, headlines tonight’s fourth annual Sweetheart Showcase. UIC is at the bottom of the barrel in the Horizon League, but they’re playing for their pride, folks!
