The roller coaster park’s parent company, Cedar Fair, just announced they have acquired the nearby Sawmill Creek Resort. The addition brings the company’s total number of hotel rooms to more than 2,300.
“We are excited about the opportunity to add Sawmill Creek to our growing portfolio of resort properties serving Cedar Point, Cedar Point Shores Waterpark and the Cedar Point Sports Center,” said Cedar Fair President and CEO Richard Zimmermann in a statement.
The 235-acre acquisition includes multiple pools, 28 acres of lakefront property, a beach and plenty of amenities.
Plans are already underway to modernize the facility inside and out, a process which is scheduled to take at least two years.
