It appears that Med Mart and Convention Center developer MMPI has shed a high-level employee who was a token holdover from the classic, corrupt version of Cuyahoga County. Dennis Madden, the former county administrator, left that post in the fall of 2008 amid allegations of sexual harassment by a senior county worker. He promptly found a great replacement job with MMPI as executive director of the entire Med Mart and Convention Center empire.
The county worker, who sued Madden and former county commissioners in federal court, later dropped the suit in exchange for a better county job and pay raises amounting to $140,000 more than she had been making.
Meanwhile, Madden headed the Med Mart project through last year, but things apparently weren’t working out as planned: By September, the MMPI website listed him not as the boss, but as a more lowly “Director of Community Relations.” This month, Madden is not listed anywhere on the site. MMPI did not return calls or e-mails asking what happened to him.
