The exterior face lift comes as part of a $3.6 million gift from the Jack, Joseph & Morton Mandel Foundation, which created the Mandel Honors College at CSU, and an endowed chair to run it.
The University Honors Program began 10 years ago. As the Mandel Honors College, it became the ninth individual college at CSU and enrolled more than 500 students.
“Each year, the highly selective program admits qualified freshman candidates as well as internal and transfer students through a rigorous application process,” read a CSU press release back in June. Those rigors included scoring in the 90th percentile or better on the ACT exam, and graduating in the top 10 percent of their (the students’) high school class.
CSU marketing personnel told Scene back then that the oh-so literally named “Main Classroom Building” will remain “Main Classroom,” and that naming rights for that facility would probably be in the $10 million arena.

Sam Allard has no business being employed at Scene. He just drags them down and contributes next to nothing of value. What a stiff.
I’m not sure whether the writer is being sarcastic, but $10 million is exactly what was donated for the last two colleges that were named, Engineering and Business.
