Here are the Cleveland Shops Offering Flash Sheet Tattoos for Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is "Black Friday" for tattoo parlors. And up to potentially three times a year, many tattoo shops offer a themed flash sheet (a group of designs to choose from but usually not open for modification) for a severely discounted rate in honor of the holiday. The tradition is widely credited to Ink Master Oliver Peck in 1995, but the Dallas artist's celebratory sale has since expanded all across the country, including Cleveland.

Some shops prefer to do a same-day surprise announcement, but we found at least eight shops in the area offering flash-sheet specials for Friday the 13th. As you'll notice, many of the designs will incorporate the unlucky number "13," solidifying your participation in a modern tradition.

Here are the shops we found ready to give you a permanent reminder of the unluckiest day of the year.

Kollective Studio - 1112 Kenilworth Ave.
Nestled in Tremont, Kollective Studio is owned and operated by Andrea Lynne Thornton, and features some of the best artists in the area. Normally requiring a shop minimum of $60, Kollective is offering a flash sheet sale of $40 on designs that traditionally cost up to $100. The deal is only available on arms and legs and is a cash only event. The party starts at noon and will continue until they just can't ink up any more. Lakewood Electric Tattoo - 15200 Madison Ave in Lakewood
The newest tattoo shop in the city, Lakewood Electric Tattoo opened May of 2018 and is owned and operated by Chuck Uhler, a tattoo artist with 24 years of experience. The shop will be doing $100 pre-drawn designs and $80 "get what you get" designs. Tattoos will be provided on a first come, first served basis and are only available on arms and legs. Chronic Tattoo - 358 Cleveland St. in Elyria
If you're up for the drive into the 'burbs, Chronic Tattoo in Elyria is filled with some of the most talented artists in the game. Tomorrow they'll be offering $30, $50, $75 and $100 pre-drawn designs in addition to $13 piercings (with jewelry purchase) from noon until 8 p.m. This event is cash only, but they'll also have pizza for those wanting to party. Kustom Culture - 290 West Ave, Suite A in Tallmadge
For our friends closer to Akron, or Clevelanders who absolutely cannot pass up the deal of a lifetime, the talented folks at Kustom Culture are offering over 100 tattoo designs available and piercings for $13 (+$7 tip). Owned by Wendy Pinkerton, Kustom Culture's flash sheets include geeky references like Harry Potter, Miyazaki films, Pokemon, '90s cartoons and plenty other rad designs. Empire Ink - 335 E Cuyahoga Falls Ave in Akron
This custom tattoo shop in Akron is not only home to some ridiculously talented artists (seriously, peep their portraiture work), it's also an art gallery. For Friday the 13th, Empire Ink is celebrating with $13 (+$7 tip) pre-drawn tattoos all day long. If you're not into their flash-sheet designs, customers are invited to bring your own design and receive a 31 percent discount off of the shop's normal rate. Flash sheets will be revealed sometime today, so keep your eyes on their Facebook page for the designs.

Forest City Tattoo and Gallery - 17409 Detroit Road in Lakewood
Across the street from St. James Catholic Church is the home of Forest City Tattoo and Gallery, a tattoo shop that also serves as a space for local artists to showcase their work. This Friday, the shop is offering $60 classic style "13" tattoos and $80 "get what you get" surprises. All of the flash sheet designs have been released on their Instagram, and will be executed by artists Ryan Francois, Jason King and Kelly King.

War Paint Studios - 31541 Vine Street in Wickliffe
Finally, a flash sheet that features Jason Voorhees. Offering tattoos, custom paintings, mural artists, jewelry and unique gifts as well as art from talented local artists on display and for sale, War Paint Studios is celebrating Friday the 13th with $31 flash sheets featuring traditional "13" designs, characters from Rick and Morty, horror icons and many more. Lefty's Tattoo - 1153 Pearl Road in Brunswick
Classic "13" tattoos, Pennywise the Clown from Stephen King's IT, Pickle Rick and a crying state of Ohio are just some of the available $40 flash sheet designs from Lefty's Tattoo. Owned by Tony Romano and operated by Romano and Nick Gulan, sign-ups for the Friday the 13th special will begin at noon on a first come, first serve basis.
