  1. While the map brings together a community of interest in Columbus, the clear goal of this map is to smash Cuyahoga into pieces and probably attempt to destroy the Democratic party here by splitting its key interests so many ways. Currently almost all of the county is in two congressional districts with little bits of two others which should have been shed, considering population loss here. Instead this map adds significant chunks of two additional districts, basically splitting the county four ways. it’s really an insult to the voters here, especially dumping in a congressperson from Toledo who has no base and no interests here. She’s almost certain to win but she has nothing to do with this county. The only good thing is that Renacci is on thin ice with so much of Cuyahoga in his district. it’s an ugly, ugly map, clearly intended as political revenge on northeast Ohio. I see several ways that could backfire, though.

  2. Hey abba, its not insulting to the voters “here”. Especially considering what the voters “here” have been electing to office for the past 20 years. The voters “here” are finally getting what they deserve…and it comes on top of the declining county population (9.8% over the past 20 years), the 50-some federal indictments and a House of Reppresentative that repeatedly runs for the presidency when he only gets about 1% of the national vote.

  3. Kenrmer, the congresspeople that Cuyahoga County had been electing are pretty good, and certainly have nothing to do with federal indictments. Shrinking population dictates that rather than splitting the county into four pieces, it should have ONLY two districts in its borders. Don’t insult the voters; they have limited information to act on when the daily newspaper of record repeatedly endorses clowns and conceals information about possible corruption until it suits their own interests. As for Kucinich, I think repeatedly running for president as well as threatening to move to another state to keep himself in Congress, could prove to be his Waterloo. Many people I know in the district are fed up with this ego-tripping and will be eager to vote for a different good Democrat — like Marcy Kaptur.
