The BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention arrives in Cleveland next weekend (Sep. 8 and 9), where fans of the popular toy building bricks can view enormous LEGO displays — including a full Chicago cityscape — and buy all sorts of LEGO merch at the Huntington Convention Center. Tickets for the convention are $15 and can be purchased here.

Local LEGO enthusiasts and builders will be on hand as well. Many of them are members of the North Eastern Ohio LEGO Users Group (NeoLUG), one of an estimated 300 such groups worldwide. LEGOs aren’t just for kids.

According to a press release for the convention — riveting stuff, rest assured — David Beckham, Ed Sheeran and Britney Spears all consider themselves “AFOLs” or Adult Fans of LEGO.  And the Northeast Ohio group is evidently pretty accomplished, having won awards for their creations. Their work will be featured at BrickUniverse.

“Attendees will be able to see skyscrapers, cities, stadiums, spaceships — whole worlds built with LEGO bricks,” reads the official statement.

The convention is geared toward both kids and adults, and will include, among other attractions, a LEGO Star Wars building Area.
