Recently unearthing 8mm video footage of Cleveland in the 1930s, YouTube user G Cast has offered up a rare digitized glimpse of what it was once like to live, work and play in our fair city.
Using colorized and black-and-white footage — try not to pay attention to the cheesy background music here — the moving images capture moments of mundane life. No one here is doing anything especially fascinating; rather, the film features people catching rides on street cars, building roads, strolling through University Circle and sledding with friends.
