A fun little article in the Chagrin/Solon Sun points out a school right here in Northeast Ohio that trains, for the lack of a better description, ninja nannies. From how to bond with children, to kickass self defense, to dining with princes and princesses, students at The English Nanny and Governess School get lessons in it all.

ABC News filmed a segment there recently, and the Sun breaks down the wide-ranging instruction they witnessed.

The English Nanny and Governess School strives to prepare its graduates for every situation — from avoiding a kidnapping of one of their high-profile charges to using proper etiquette when dining at a royal state dinner.

Cameraman Mike Shamus, independent producer Hazel Steward and a sound engineer followed the young women for several days, from sun-up to sun-down, from brushing their teeth and combing their hair to their various classes.

This included martial arts and personal safety training to a horse farm in Russell, art instruction at the Valley Art Center and a high tea at the school on South Franklin Street.

And who are role models for young wannabe nannies?

Would you believe Mary Poppins and even screecher Fran Fine from "The Nanny"?

“Mary Poppins was ready for any emergency,” Carrie Kaczmarek told the paper. “Her nanny bag was magical. It had everything imaginable.

So there you go: carry weapons in your bag, be sorta like James Bond, and top it all off with a spoonful of sugar and love.
