The RNC Host Committee issued a "casting call" Monday morning for all Cleveland residents who'd like to be photographed for the RNC signage that will temporarily adorn downtown Cleveland in July.

The photo shoot will be this Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Global Center for Health Innovation.

Only 200 tickets will be available, beginning at 8:45 a.m., for those interested in being photographed, a press release says, and there are no guarantees that if you get your picture taken, it'll be used. (About 50 of the 200 head shots will ultimately be printed).

But if you're at least 18 years old, live in Cuyahoga or its contiguous counties, and rock a bright-white Northeast Ohio smile, you just might get to see your face hanging from a street pole (if not flapping in the breeze over some decrepit storefront downtown).

The images of residents will be used in the Host Committee’s signage campaign that they're calling “We the people welcome you to Cleveland.” It aims to highlight the many faces of "every day Clevelanders" and showcase the region's putative welcoming spirit.

“We are really excited to invite the community to take part in welcoming the thousands of visitors who will attend the Convention,” said Host Committee boss David Gilbert, in a press release. “Hosting this event presents us with the unique opportunity to showcase our community to the world, and it cannot be done correctly without highlighting the city’s greatest asset, our people.”

The casting call advises, as far as outfits are concerned, that solid colors (other than white) will be optimal, and that no logos or brands may be visible.
