The Cuyahoga County Progressive Caucus has announced a series of forums to continue familiarizing Northeast Ohio voters with Democratic gubernatorial candidates.

Beginning tonight (Monday) with Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, and over the next several weeks, the CCPC will host four Democrats at Newburgh Heights Village Hall, and the Green Party candidate, Constance Gadell-Newton, at CCPC headquarters in Lakewood.

In a press release, CCPC said that the invitation to Ohio Supreme Court Justice Bill O'Neill, who was derided for a Facebook post Friday that conflated consensual sex and sexual assault, has been rescinded.

The Cuyahoga County Progressive Caucus is a left-leaning coalition that evolved from the local Bernie Sanders campaign apparatus. They were heavily involved in the campaign against the Q Deal and they organized Frank's Fat Cat Festival in Gates Mills to rally against big corporate money in local elections. CCPC's Political Director Steve Holecko said that the organization would endorse a candidate for Governor via a vote by its membership in early 2018.
