This Sunday, Clevelanders from all political, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds join forces at the March for Science to show support the numerous ways science and education benefits our communities and globally.

In a world where education is discounted and "alternative facts" are believed at face value, this march is a way to raise the voices of those actively working to make our world a better place for generations to come. As the iconic astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson famously said, "The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it."

The Cleveland March for Science in 2017 brought out thousands of participants, and the public outcry for legislators to continue funding science has so far been extremely successful.

The march will take place globally April 14, but due to permit restrictions, the Cleveland satellite of March for Science takes place Sunday, April 15, in Public Square. Activities are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., with speakers presenting between 11 a.m. and noon. The march follows soon after.
