Former President Barack Obama is hitting the campaign trail in advance of the midterm elections to lend support to a host of Democratic candidates in key states, including Ohio and California.

In the Buckeye State, that will entail a campaign stop next Thursday, Sept. 13, in Cleveland in support of gubernatorial candidate Richard Cordray as well as Betty Sutton. They'll be joined by Sherrod Brown and other local Dems. A location and time have not yet been announced, but we'll let you know as soon as we hear.

A spokesperson for Obama told the New York Times his message will be “that this moment in our country is too perilous for Democratic voters to sit out.” Health care and Republican economic policies, the Times reports, will take center stage.

In California, Obama will hit Orange County, where Democrats have a chance to break a traditional Republican stronghold on several seats.
