Part of coming home or just being around for Thanksgiving means getting drunk with old friends before having to spend the next day cooped up with your family. Here are 14 parties going on around Cleveland to get you out of the house this Thanksgiving Eve.

Chip Tha Rapper
The Odeon Concert Club, 1295 Old River Rd.
The artist known for his freestyling skills and the song “Interior Crocodile Alligator” is coming to the Odeon for “the biggest drinking night of the year.” The show, which costs $17, starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 11:30 p.m. Special guests T.B.A.

The 12 Beers of Christmas
Der Braumeister, 13046 Lorain Ave.
We firmly believe that Christmas shouldn’t be celebrated until after Thanksgiving, but the 12 beers featured at this event are here to prove us wrong. These Christmas ales paired with German folk music and food are popular, so reservations are recommended. The event starts at 4 p.m. and goes all night.

Tacologist Thanksgiving
Tacologist, 11409 Euclid Ave.
Forget turkey— here are tacos, tequila, and a big party that starts at 8 p.m. and goes until 2 p.m. Maybe they'll come out with a special tacos de pavo in honor of Turkey Day.

Thanksgiving Eve Dennyoke
The Happy Dog, 5801 Detroit Ave.
The annual karaoke tradition continues with Cleveland’s DJ Denny, from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. This could be the year your friends realize how great of a singer you really are.

Kerwin Claiborne at Cleveland Improv
1148 Main Ave.
Kerwin Claiborne recently created his own comedy production called “Don’t You Do This To Me” while performing sold-out shows across the country. His many personalities include Uncle Leroy, Miss Keisha and Ms. Mary. Tickets for the 7:30-9 p.m. show are $25.

Southern Tier Gobbler’s Ball
Southern Tier Brewing Co., 811 Prospect Ave. East
Black tie attire is thankfully not required for this ball, which is scheduled to last from 11 a.m. to midnight. All draft beers are $5 starting a 5 p.m. for those just getting off work, and there's live music from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

'90s Night at Brother’s Lounge
11609 Detroit Ave.
What better way to celebrate getting together with your high school friends than to listen to a bunch of '90s tunes? Hosted by local band The Goods, the event starts at 9 p.m. and goes until midnight.

Viva’s Sizzling Salsagiving Potluck
1541 E 38th St.
Viva Dance Studio is hosting a potluck and food drive with a Kizomba class from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. and salsa classes from 8 p.m.-9 p.m. The evening culminates in a dance social at 9 p.m. that lasts until midnight.

Happy Stoutsgiving
1156 E 11th St.
Beerhead Bar and Eatery is the host of this Stoutsgiving from 6 p.m.-11 p.m., featuring 10-plus limited-release stouts and porters. They're calling it Black Beer Wednesday, so expect some dark, rich beers.

Drinksgiving!
Academy Tavern, 12800 Larchmere Blvd.
It’s all in the name. What else can we say? The Tavern promises both good times and good vibes – and of course, drinks starting at 7 p.m.

Wild Turkey: A Thanksgiving Eve Experience
Re:Bar, 2130 East 9th St.
The first 100 individuals to arrive at this event get to participate in an open bar for one full hour. If that's not enticing enough, DJ Misses, King Lou, and DJ Stroke will play in three different rooms from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Lit on the Lake
Dano's Lakeside Pub, 4856 Coleman Dr., Akron
For the low price of $5, this Portage Lake bar crawl promises a beer koozie at registration and a T-shirt at the end after you’ve filled up your passport. Wear your ugliest holiday sweater for a chance to win a prize. Each bar will feature a signature cocktail, with three additional bars to be announced at the 5 p.m. start. Fill up your passport by 11 p.m. to enter the giveaway.

Gumbo Meets Potluck: Pre-Thanksgiving-Day Party
2785 Euclid Heights Blvd.
The B-side Lounge and Grog Shop are hosting their annual Thanksgiving Eve party from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets are $15, or pay $30 and get an exclusive event T-shirt.

35th Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Polka Jam
6417 St. Clair Ave.
It wouldn’t be a Cleveland cultural experience without some polka at the Slovenian National Home. Featuring Slovenian wine and food, along with Cleveland craft beers, the event lasts from 6:30-11 p.m. and costs $2 at the door.
