The Plain Dealer reports that Andrey Bridges, a 36-year-old Parma man, has been charged with aggravated murder and other crimes in the death of Cemia “CeCe” Dove, the transgender woman recovered from an Olmsted Township pond last month.

The PD, almost brazenly, continues to refer to the victim as Carl Acoff, notwithstanding a vigil-slash-rally held to honor the memory and legacy of CeCe while chastising mainstream media for insensitivity.

Bridges has an involved criminal history, including 4 stints in prison. He was most recently released in July, 2011.

Here’s a dandy from his felonious-assault archives:

A police report claims Bridges went to pick up the woman at work on June 25, 2010, and that when they met he demanded the money she made that evening. She refused to give it to him, so he beat her so bad she had to be admitted to the hospital with a collapsed lung, broken ribs and other injuries, according to the report.

Bridges is expected to appear before a County Common Please judge today at 1:45 p.m.

  1. Still ain’t over yet…The Plain Dealer will probably use this current news about the found girls to attempt to weasel out of the meeting that’s being demanded by the Cleveland trans community and allies to discuss their jacked up Cemia coverage.

  2. so sad he did what he did to her..she so young to be gone so soon..he however will go back to his home and hussle and harras other gay and trans ppls in whatever prison he goes to..clearly I can see from his picture that he is a criminal 4 life..so sad all the way around.

  3. Justice !! Thank you CS for using the correct language and that makes you even more epic then you are already .. <3 Rest In Peace CeCe

  4. This bastard has been in prison 4 times, and now he chalks up a murder charge to boot. Boy, looks like those previous 4 stints in prison really helped him to turn his life around. I’m really sorry, but sometimes there is just no hope for people to function in society without turning to crime or violence and taking out their issues on the innocent.

  5. No one deserves to die because they choose to live a gay lifestyle! But, nor should they get involved with straight ppl under false pretense. Stick with dating w/n the LGBT community period – otherwise you’re asking foranything to happen to you for being deceptive.

  6. GOD loves you not your sin and that’s where people mess up….GOD clearly states to lay down with anyone of the same sex is a sin…period..but people want to tell GOD he made a mistake really
