The wife of a northeast Ohio judge may be facing some serious time behind bars after allegedly trying to poison her husband, Ashtabula County Common Pleas Juvenile-Probate Judge Charles Hague.
Last week, Carla Hague, 71, was charged with felonious assault after intentionally slipping her husband antifreeze back in September. On top of assault, she's also likely to face charges for attempted murder, the Star Beacon reports.
Following the poisoning, Judge Hague was taken to Ashtabula County Medical Center and then flown to the Cleveland Clinic where he was found to have a high level of Ethylene Glycol in his system. He's been on medical leave ever since, but plans to return to work after the new year.
Officials said a bond will be set once an out-of-county judge has been appointed to the case. Carla Hague is scheduled to appear before an Ashtabula County Grand Jury on Dec. 18.
