A gooey slice of pizza inspired the theme behind today’s opening of
Spicy, Plain, Cheesy & Loaded. The 40-piece exhibit features the Canton Museum of Art’s ceramics collection from “plain” pieces, which are simple in style and shape, to “spicy” creations that blaze with hot reds and oranges. “Pizza starts with a basic ingredient the dough. A ceramic piece starts with a basic ingredient of clay,” says assistant curator Kathy Fleeher. “Like a chef preparing a pizza, artists bring their ingredient to create their pieces.”
Sundays, 1-5 p.m.; Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesdays-Thursdays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Starts: March 26. Continues through July 23
