Today is the first day of ops for Flip Side Chagrin Falls (44 N. Main St., 440-600-7274, flipsideburger.com), which opened in the space that Joey’s Restaurant had occupied since 1981. That restaurant lost its lease following a devastating fire that shuttered its business. Before reopening, the space was totally gutted and re-built.

Like the other locations in Hudson and Columbus, the restaurant dishes up grass-fed Ohio beef burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, shakes and great beer on tap in a cozy 50-seat space.

“The space looks great,” owner Shawn Monday said during a quick break from the opening-day action. “It’s got the exposed brick walls that are great to design around. You don’t have to build in that character, you have it all.”

Flip Side is open for lunch and dinner every day of the week.

Monday also operates One Red Door (49 Village Way, 330-342-3667, onereddoorhudson.com) and 3 Palms Pizzeria (60 Village Way., 330-342-4545, http://www.3palmspizzeria.com), both in Hudson. He will also open another Flip Side in the Flats in the coming year.
