During the postgame press conference last night after the Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat to win the NBA Finals, LeBron James was asked whether he let it bother him that so many people wanted to see him fail.

Naturally, King James — the man who is humbled by everything: his talents, his life, his teammates, this yogurt, that black Cadillac, Good & Plenty, Arnold Palmer (the drink, not the man), that pen over there — took the opportunity to say how humbled the series and season made him, and that he understands why the public has turned on him, but he doesn’t begrudge them those feelings. He uses it as fuel, hopes to turn them back into fans, and will work harder next year.

Just kidding. He actually said this:

  1. Continuing in business news. LeBron James came out with his own super maxi-pads. Good for 3 periods.

  2. In 5 years he’ll have alienated the entire BB world, the glory will be gone as will his millions. He’ll end up a broke has-been that pissed on everyone that was there to support him, and he’ll be all alone.

  3. Come on now, he did not imply any of that. Cleveland fans need to get over it, seriously, you think that NBA fans still feel sorry for you? Most of us don’t and the fact that crap like this will continue to spew out of Cleveland until Lebron wins a championship will only make it sweeter for him when he wins one.

You, sir, are a sad example of a wasted life.

  4. LeBron needs to come back to reality. What you do comes back on you. Welcome to the wonderful world of Karma.
Does Cleveland have the right to celebrate his loss, you’re damn skippy they do.
It isn’t that he left, it is the way he left.
He wasn’t even the star of that team, Wade was, not for his explosive playing, which he did, but for the way he stayed on the court and congratulated the other team. LeBron needs to learn some life lessons, yesterday was a good one. What if LeBron never wins a ring? He took the curse of Cleveland and moved it southbound. Enjoy it.

  5. I didn’t see it that way. He is just saying that people who hate on him will have to wake up and the smell the coffee: he isn’t going anywhere.

  6. He’s not worth a comment. He broke thousands of kids hearts when he left town because kids are naive enough to think that he loves them as much as they loved him. No bitterness, but if he never wins a championship, I, in addition to having those problems every day that are mine, will take some solace in that fact.

  7. Not everyone in Cleveland is butthurt over this dude leaving. I NEVER liked him. I knew the way people kissed his @$$ since high school would blow up in their faces so I was happy to see him go. Now he is right I will continue to have my problems but he will continue to have his (the people who hate him, the fact that he still behaves like 6 year old girl, every tom dick and harry banging out him mom, and the fact that a championship keeps evading him). If being unable to buy a private jet is the least of my problems then compared to him I’m doing good.
