This is the part where we’d usually dip into a soft reverie introduction to this post with some Harold and Kumar jokes, but the news is too serious for dilly-dallying:

Come Christmas Eve, all five Northeast Ohio locations of White Castle will shutter their sweet onion and patty doors for good.

We’ve had some good times (and post-good times bad times) with White Castle around these parts, whether it was hamburger-scented candle the fast food chain tried to unleash on the public in the midst of National Hamburger Month back in 2010, or former Brown Frostee Rucker letting the world know he took one of the Kardashian sisters to the revered outlet of “beef” and had some burgers in bed, or the occasional ill-advised trip late at night to the locale over on W. 117th St.

This is sad news. The tear-inducing confirmation picture below courtesy of the Lakewood Citizen.

  1. So, honest truth here – I haven’t eaten at White Castle in about 20 years. I suppose I’ll have to make the trek to Brookpark before they close so I can grab a sandwich while I can.
