The bomb squad was called to Parma after a suspicious device was found strapped to a tree at the corners of State and Brook Park roads around 10 a.m. today.

Officials initially believed the package to be a pipe bomb, but when members of the bomb squad investigated the device, they found it actually contained little prizes and a clue for an online scavenger hunt game.

Surprise!

Parma Police say that whomever placed the device there could face charges of inducing panic.

  1. The ‘device’? Not everything is a bomb. If people can’t have scavenger hunts, then the terrorists win…

  2. So apparently we’re not allowed to have scavenger hunts any more. Law enforcement is becoming too zealous if they think that every out of place object is a bomb.
