This year, like most years, has in its two-month infancy not been kind to the Browns. Little else could be expected, of course, but the steady drum beat of doofus decisions is certainly deafening. (“The Cleveland Browns are just the saddest NFL franchise,” WaPo writes today, listing all sorts of tragedy of which we’re all too well aware.)
Anyway. Next week, almost inexplicably, the team will announce a new logo, one that will supersede the long-standing and iconic, uh, orange helmet. 92.3 The Fan reported that the logo will not involve Brownie the Elf, which is a damn shame.
It’s like the old adage: “If you’re not rebranding your corporate image, you’re not doing it right.”
The Browns will not add the new logo to their helmets, although uniforms and helmets will be getting an upgrade in tandem next season.
