Drake’s fall tour dates are being switched around, but the Oct. 13 Cleveland outing at the Q has been completely dropped from the list.
Fans are pissed.
The rapper’s management team cites “an intense rehearsal schedule and technical production requirements,” which seem like fairly standard things that get taken into consideration for any professional tour, but…
His new album, Nothing Was the Same, drops next week, giving jilted fans at least some consolation in the meantime. Wait…Drake has fans?
Translation: Drake’s few fans (and those who realize he’s done little solo, ever) didn’t buy enough tickets.
A few thoughts here:
1. I wasn’t aware that Drake was coming to town.
2. If you gave me free tickets to see Drake’s show, I wouldn’t have gone and probably would have thrown them up on stubhub.
3. All that being said, that really sucks he cancelled the show for the fans that did want to see him here. This doesn’t help to attract more shows and tours to Cleveland, especially if they’re not sure that their show/tour is going to sell enough tickets.
Moving the gig to a parking lot in The Flats was not a feasible option.
