As we’re nearly halfway to Christmas, Tremont’s A Christmas Story House & Museum is ready to celebrate. While the house (3159 W. 11th St.) commemorates the holiday season no matter the month, its annual Christmas in July festivities feature special guests and goodies for all come Saturday, July 21.
This year’s guest stars include Patty Johnson, a cranky elf from A Christmas Story, and the even Santa Claus himself. Johnson will be in the gift shop from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. signing pictures, telling stories about the film and inspiring visitors to quit dragging their feet, just like she did when the Parkers went to Higbee’s in the 1983 classic.
Also, expect a kid’s table, face paint, and themed Jack Frost Donuts featuring the movie’s iconic leg lamp, pink bunny and Red Ryder. Then go try the Red Ryder air rifle range in the home’s backyard.
Finally, in honor of this year’s Bumpuses-themed A Christmas Story Run, the house has invited the Cleveland Animal Protective League and City Dogs to bring out adoptable dogs to the event.
Admission to the house is $11 for adults, $9 for seniors and $7 for kids.
