Cleveland Metroparks Summer Concert Series
Euclid State Beach plays host to this summer concert series put on by Cleveland Metroparks. The event featuring local music runs from 5 to 8 p.m. and features everything from funk to gospel and jazz. Food trucks will be on hand for the event, and there will be a beer garden as well.

Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School
Founded in 2005 in a dive bar in Brooklyn, Dr. Sketchy’s has now spread to more than 100 cities around the world. Dr. Sketchy Akron, a monthly drink and draw event that takes place on the second Thursday of each month at Jilly’s Music Room in Akron, gives patrons the opportunity to “draw glamorous underground performers in an atmosphere of boozy conviviality.” The fun begins at 7 p.m.; it costs $10 to draw.

Freak the Mighty
The Seattle Rep and the Cleveland Play House team up to present this special musical about two friends who become superheroes. Tonight’s performance takes place at 7:30 at the Allen Theatre, where performances continue through June 21.

Josh Gates Live! An Evening of Legends, Mysteries, and Tales of Adventure
The explorer, talk show host and author who famously hosts the Discover Channel show Expedition Unknown brings his live show to the Ohio Theatre. The event begins at 7:30 p.m.

The Great Gatsby
The Tony Award-winning musical based on the classic F. Scott Fitgerald book set in the Roaring Twenties comes to Connor Palace. Tonight’s performance takes place at 7:30, and the play runs through June 28.

Alan Hewitt & One Nation
Moody Blues keyboard player Alan Hewitt, who’s played with the progressive rock band since 2010, also played keyboards in Moody Blues bassist John Lodge’s solo band John Lodge & the 10,000 Light Years band. He brings his sideproject, Alan Hewitt & One Nation to the Music Box Supper Club. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.

Cleveland Jazz Orchestra Little Big Band Tribute to Ken Peplowski
Tonight at 8 at the Bop Stop, the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra will deliver a tribute to the late Ken Peplowski, a Cleveland native and respected jazz artist who passed away earlier this year. Guest Mark Vinci, a saxophonist, clarinetist, flutist and composer, will join CJO for the show. It begins at 8 p.m.

Guardians vs. Detroit Tigers
The Guardians take on their division rivals, the Detroit Tigers, for the first time in Cleveland this season. The three-game series begins today at 7:10 p.m. at Progressive Field.

Near West Theatre Juneteenth Celebration
This event, the first of Near West Theatre’s Summer Plaza Concert Series, will feature performances by Near West Theatre Youth Performers, Blakk Jakk Dance Collective, DOC Studios: Poetry & Spoken Word, Djapo Cultural Arts and AfroFunk Revölution. There will be resource tables, Juneteenth-themed crafts and food from Yum Village’s pop-up food truck. The event takes place from 5 to 10 p.m.

Planet KPOP
Press materials for this event promise that there will be “on-stage dance battles, dynamic lighting moments and high-energy highlights.” Billed as “the ultimate K-Pop tribute concert,” the spectacle pays tribute to the popular form of music coming out of Korea. It begins at 7:30 p.m. at Mandel Concert Hall.

Sommore

The Hooley
Today from noon to 8 p.m., you can check out the Hooley on Kamm’s Corners, an annual street festival that takes place on Lorain Ave. from West 165th Street to Rocky River Dr. The festival offers crafts, live music, dancers from area Irish dance schools, pipes and drums and plenty of family fun. Food will be available at the pubs and eateries lining Lorain Ave. and from vendors on the street. Two entertainment stages showcase a variety of musical acts. Admission is free.
Josiah and the Bonnevilles
Singer-songwriter Josiah Leming wrote some 100 songs for his latest album, As Is, before selecting the 10 tunes that made the cut. The prolific Leming possesses a distinctive fluttering voice that compares to people like Bob Dylan and Ray LaMontagne. He performs tonight at 7 at House of Blues.

Larchmere PorchFest
PorchFest is a free family-friendly event open to the community featuring local musicians from a wide variety of genres. The event features headliners Hello! 3D and Jinari Kemet & the Black Jackets, and there will be activities for kids. It takes place from 1 to 10 p.m. at various houses along Larchmere Blvd.

Orange Community Artisan & Farmer’s Market
Morning Robinson, a Cuyahoga County Agriculture & Natural Resource Extension educator, will be on hand for this monthly farmer’s market, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the Orange Village Administrative Office’s Service Building. Patrons will learn about native plant selection, pollinators, container food gardening, natural habitat creation, and small scale and backyard livestock production.

Parade the Circle
The theme for this annual event that takes place at Wade Oval outside of the Cleveland Museum of Art will center on “momentum” in conjunction with the current CMA exhibit American Printed Silks, 1927-1947. Prom Rewind
Guests are encouraged to put on formal wear and for this event at the Children’s Museum of Cleveland that features music, dancing, games and nostalgic fun. It goes from 7to 10 p.m. Proceeds from Prom Rewind benefit CMC’s Wonder Fund, which provides free and reduced admission for underpriviledged children.

Chris Ramsay Presents: It’s Probably Nothing

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Rock Doc Film Festival

Crocker Park Block Party
This annual event at Crocker Park in Westlake kicks off with the Crocker Bark 5K & 1‑Mile Walk. A portion of the registration proceeds to benefit the City of Westlake’s K‑9 Unit. The event will also include police and fire engagements, live K-9 demonstrations, face painting, food and vendors. The race begins at 9:30 a.m., and the party runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kenny Mason
The singer-songwriter who counts Billy Corgan and J. Cole as supporters comes to Mahall’s 20 Lanes in Lakewood. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.
