It’s hard not to pick up on and share her zest for life! RoseLee is a silly sweetheart who is always excited to get outside for some walks, and once she is, she makes for pleasant company. One of her signature moves is bursting into zoomies and then flipping onto her back for belly rubs. She seems to be a nice balance of active and playful as well as attentive and sweet. We could see her making a loving new family member! With other dogs in play group, she was social and playful. RosaLee is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 58 lbs.

Marcia would benefit from a quieter home where she can have plenty of time to warm up and adjust at her own pace. Treats are definitely one way to fast track your way into her heart! But that life is behind her, and it’s Delilah’s turn to be pampered! She loves getting lots of pets and scritches. Delilah is a smarty pants who already knows sit and paw. And, perhaps unsurprisingly because she is so skinny, she is quite the cookie monster and is quite food-focused. Overall, volunteers have found Delilah to be nice and attentive. If you’re looking for a lady that seems pretty low-maintenance and chill, Cali could fit the bill! She is up for a little playtime and enjoys her chance to go for a nice walk, but she is more about hanging out and getting loved on. She’ll flop right over for belly rubs, or happily plonk herself down to accept some praise and some treats. Cali would likely be right at home on your couch! Cali was social with other dogs for her playgroup assessment. She is estimated to be around 4 years old and weighs a portly 77 lbs. We recently discovered that unfortunately Cali has a torn ACL. Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland can fortunately cover the cost of surgery, but Cali will need a calm home where she can recover and recuperate. Luckily, Cali seems like she will be pretty into that “rest” period.

Boo has been social and playful with other dogs so far, making him a great addition to our playgroups. He also loves to play with any and all toys! Boo was a little nervous about the kennel at first, but is warming up to people and his environment. He’s shown us he already knows “sit”, might be housebroken, and has good leash manners. Boo is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs 37 pounds.

Volunteers have described Lolo as sweet but spunky, and small but mighty. Overall, she seems like a fairly well-mannered lady but she still has moments of silly energy and playfulness. Once harnessed, she walks decently on leash. She is quite treat-motivated, which makes her eager to learn and work on training. Based on her kennel routine, she seems like she could be housebroken, and she also already knows how to sit. Fun, upbeat Lolo is estimated to be around 6 years old, and she weighs a nuggety 44 lbs. We recently discovered that Lolo will need surgery to correct bilateral luxating patellas (problems with her kneecaps.) Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland covers the cost, but Lolo will need a calm and loving environment in which to recover. She could really use that special home!

He hasn’t been at the kennel long, but in that time we’ve really seen him open up around kennel staff and volunteers. He enjoys his daily walks and seems to be housebroken. He can be a little independent when you first meet him but after he gets to know you he opens up and shows you his happy-go-lucky personality. He is extremely treat motivated (hot dogs are definitely his favorite) which should help with additional training. He also likes watching out his kennel window at all the action outside during the day.

Ollie is very enthusiastic about life, wonder at the world and playful, occasional mischievous antics are quite entertaining. Ollie has a blast with toys and is pretty good at self-entertaining with them once he gets going. And he LOVES the sprinkler! Perfect if you need to cool down on a hot summer day. It seems like Ollie could know to do his business outside. Ollie does have some puppyish mannerisms and tendencies which would benefit from some basic training and routine in his new home. Once settled in, he seems like he would make a fun and active companion. So far, Ollie has been pretty social in play group. Ollie is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 50 lbs.

In a somewhat active household where she can settle into a routine of some play/exercise, and get plenty of loving, we think she’ll make a doting companion. Cammy is one of those sweethearts whose resilience makes you marvel. Cammy was found as a stray in sad condition. She was covered in wounds and scars, both new and old; had a sticky tar-like substance on parts of her body, and was quite underweight. Despite this, from the get-go, she has been so sweet, affectionate and gentle with people. In fact, she is a bit difficult to photograph because she wants to be close to the nearest person getting pet. Overall, she is a mellow girl who walks decently and takes treats gently. Based on her condition when she was found, we suspect Cammy may have been used as a bait dog or something similar, or at the very least was not well cared for. She, understandably, can be nervous or defensive with other dogs coming near and for this reason, we are seeking a home where she can be the only pet for Cammy. We believe she would be oh-so grateful to have a quiet home of her own where she can relax somewhere soft.

He lights up for butt scratches, is generally attentive, and already knows how to sit on command. He is quite food-motivated so would likely be a quick, engaged student for someone wanting to work on more tricks and commands together! This handsome pants is a strapping young lad who is active, fun and friendly. He is a sweet, affectionate boy who gets the occasional burst of the sillies. In between exploring on walks, Patch enjoys getting back scratches or rolling over for belly rubs. This bouncy, strong boy seems like he would do well in a home that helps him exercise his mind and body. He is a bright dog, and seems like he will take to training quickly, as he picked up on “sit” in a short time with one of our volunteers. If you’re wondering, what is a Flerp? Well, it’s a dog who likes to flerpaderp around the play yard, of course! Flerps is known for her passion for toys, especially tennis balls. She is very entertaining when she gets going with her zoomies in the play yard, complete with butt tucks and soaring acrobatic leaps. Flerps has a lot of energy and would likely work well in a home that can keep her active! Flerps also loves her treats and does know how to sit quite nicely on command, and she’s an expert treat catcher. Flerps was a bit scared of us and the kennel when she first arrived, but she has emerged into a much more affectionate, silly, flerptastic young dog! Flerps is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 53 lbs.

She also happens to be our resident wiggle butt queen. This brindle cutie has been charming staff and volunteers left and right. When it’s time to go for a walk, she is usually bouncy with excitement and does non-stop wiggles. But she knows how to settle down quickly, and then enjoys soaking up lots of love. She’s a lovable girl, so you’ll want to pet and snuggle her all day! Peyton is fully grown but on the petite side at 46 lbs, which is convenient as she seems to want to be a lap dog. With other dogs for her play group assessment, Peyton was on the shy side but did fine. She is estimated to be around 5 years old. Peyton tested positive for heartworm when she arrived at the kennel, but fortunately this is treatable and Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland covers the cost! Peyton just needs a loving home where she can rest and recover, enjoying lots of snuggles along the way.

He has recently gotten to enjoy some day trips with one of his volunteer fans, and he makes for pleasant company out on strolls around the town. Pierce is an eager beaver when it comes to getting out and about with volunteers. A curious fellow, Pierce enjoys putting his nose to the ground and snuffling out all the delightful smells there are to smell. Strong, active Pierce thrives when he gets to romp around in the yard and shows off his playfulness, which can be lots of fun! However, he seems to have energy in bursts, and is quickly ready to slow down and hang out. He’ll show off his “sit” and gentle treat-taking, and is overall quite attentive once the cookies come out. With a little time to finally relax in a new home, friendly Pierce seems like he’ll have tons of best friend potential. Based on his kennel routine, he also seems to be housebroken. Pierce is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 51 lbs.

This hunky bobble-head is a sweet, social lug. He’s a confident boy who has no qualms with waltzing on over and jumping gracefully onto your lap like an over-sized lap dog. He’s a strong boy, but also doesn’t seem to have the highest stamina, as though he would enjoy plenty of time chilling out and getting ear scratches in between walks or play time! His name means “wise from experience” and he lives up to it… Frodo seems like he knows to do his business outside as he always hurries outside to relieve himself, and he is learning to work for yummy treats. This beefy boy is estimated to be around 2 years old. Unfortunately, Frodo arrived to us having heartworm disease, but fortunately, it is treatable! Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland covers the cost, and Frodo just needs a loving home where he can rest and recover post-treatment.
Breed: Terrier, Pit Bull / Mix Age: 4y Gender: Female Color: Chocolate / White Spayed/Neutered: No Size: Medium Nora is ready to get the love her heart deserves! This affectionate girl came into the kennel so sweet and happy, despite needing to do some healing. Nora was malnourished and we’re working to put some weight on her, but that hasn’t stopped her from loving on all of our volunteers. She walks well on a leash and knows “sit”, but mostly wants to hug her person (and be fed all kinds of yummy treats!). Nora is approximately 4 years old and weighs 40 pounds. Nora is also heartworm positive, but fortunately is it treatable and Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland will cover the cost!
Breed: Terrier, Pit Bull / Mix Age: 6y 6m Gender: Female Color: Brown / White Spayed/Neutered: Yes Size: Medium Hope is a thing with feathers… or in this case, fur and sometimes pearls! Hope is sweet, mellow girl who still has some pep to her step. She absolutely loves people and is quite affectionate, enjoying the chance to be pampered and pet. She loves going for her daily walks, and is a pleasant walking companion; she pulls a bit at first but settles into a nice pace quickly. Hope is currently living in a foster home and is well-mannered and overall easy-going. She is housebroken and crate-trained, and is working on learning basic commands. She loves food, so she’s an eager student! She would love to be the princess of her castle as the only pet as she is nervous around other dogs (though she doesn’t react or bark seeing them out and about.) Really, Hope is ready for a life of being doted on with plenty of time cuddling on the couch. We estimate Hope to be around 5 years old and she weighs around 75 lbs.
Breed: Terrier, Pit Bull / Mix Age: 1y 3m Gender: Female Color: Brown / White Spayed/Neutered: Yes Size: Medium Nova is like a personal ray of sunshine when you get her out for some play time. She loves romping around after toys and is quite a riot! We also recently got to learn some more about how Nova may be in a home thanks to a sleepover she had with a volunteer. Overall, we learned that Nova is a sweet, loving girl who makes for lovely company in the home. She was delighted to spend lots of time in the middle of a cuddle puddle on the couch. She did not have any accidents during the few days, slept well in her crate, and picked up on the routine quickly. She makes a great work-from-home buddy, as she is happy to be nearby you but also quite ready to self-entertain by tossing a stuffy around for herself or working on a chew toy. Though, all the better if you want to play with her, and she might show off her excitement with a few rounds of zoomies. When excited, Nova can get a little mouthy in a puppyish kind of way, but she listens very well to her people saying it’s time to settle back down. We also learned that Nova is a sensitive girl who needs a little time to build her confidence in a new place. She can be scared of new sounds or weird things (like spooky Halloween displays or suspicious trash cans), and needs a little time to get her bearings. She seems to take comfort from her person, though, and just needs a little time to be brave. Nova would likely thrive in a quieter place where she can slip right into her new routine and have that time to get confident as she showers heaps and heaps of love on her new people! She just seems so content to be in a home environment, and can’t wait to find her forever place. And once she’s confident, we know she’ll be right back to her hysterical play time antics!

She has a big personality in a relatively small package. Effie arrived at the kennel quite skinny, but has begun to put on weight as well as confidence. She is a plucky, curious, friendly little lady. Estimated to be around 1.5 years old, she still has some puppyish mannerisms and energy. When excited, she acts her young age, and can be jumpy and mouthy. But with a little training and regular exercise, we think Effie will round out into a fun and attentive companion. This is a bubbly lady with lots of potential! Effie is estimated to be around 1.5 years old and weighs a compact 45 lbs.

This smiley guy is a barrel full of joy. When it’s time to go outside, he can barely contain his enthusiasm! But even when he gets a little bouncy, it’s always in the spirit of seeking out affection, often in the form of hugs. Draco is a big leaner, as you can see! Though he has some energy, he can still settle nicely when it’s time to get pets, and he seems to totally bliss out for a good face or chest massage. Draco would likely make a doting companion in a home where he can get regular activity, and dole out plenty of love! He is estimated to be around 5 years old and weighs a lanky 45 lbs.

This pretty girl comes across as a little serious in her photos, but in reality she is a ball of fun and super playful! Katie can often be found romping around with other dogs in play group, which she seems to enjoy. She is also has a blast playing fetch with rope toys – she’ll merrily leap after them for as long as you’ll throw them! She is a smarty pants who knows how to sit on a dime, and who can even be easily tempted to practicing with our agility equipment. Poor Katie is starting to get a bit stressed and frustrated at the kennel, and would love to bust out of here into her forever home. If you’re looking for a social, fun, silly girl to add to your family, Katie is a keeper! She is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 47 lbs. She arrived at the kennel with bilateral cherry eye, which will be repaired surgically when she is spayed!

This sweet boy arrived with some patchy skin and a nearly naked bum, but he didn’t let that embarrass him as he made friends around the kennel. His fur has already begun to fill in nicely, and we know with continued TLC this boy will be looking even more handsome in no time! Despite arriving in slightly sad condition, Colin seems to have maintained chipper spirits. A curious guy, Colin enjoys long meandering walks where he can absorb all the smells. Colin is a treat hound which makes him an eager, focused student for training. Based on his kennel habits, it seems like he could be housebroken! Colin is estimated to be around 7, placing him at around middle age and with a nice moderate energy level. With just a little time to warm up, we could see him making a loyal and loving companion.

Trista recently had a mass removed from one of her upper legs, and wearing a shirt has been helping to keep her from fussing with it, and she is very patient with her cute outfits. We would love to find Trista a home where she can relax and enjoy her golden years in comfort and surrounded by love. She weighs just under 60 lbs.

Daddio can be a little vocal and you can almost picture him telling slightly exaggerated stories about things “back when I was a puppy…” Daddio enjoys letting loose in the yard with toys, especially with tennis balls! He is also a treat fiend, and certainly does not want to miss his dinner. Daddio is a strong boy but he is a sweetie, and seems like with some regular moderate exercise or play time, he’ll be happy to do lots of hanging out and relaxing on his favorite dog bed or arm chair. Currently in a foster home, Regis has shown that he makes for pleasant and easy-going company. So far, Regis has been well-mannered. He has had no accidents, has not been destructive when left in his room during the day, and has been pretty quiet, only barking rarely. Regis walks well on leash, and seems quite content with a casual stroll around the block before heading back home to bask in some sunshine. Plus, he makes a nice passenger in the car so if you’re in the mood for a road trip, he’s ready for shot gun! Regis already knows how to sit and lay down on command, and cleverly knows how to use his paw to solicit pets. So far, Regis has coexisted peacefully with the resident dog in the house. At around 7 years old, Regis is an older gent, and he’s looking for a quieter home to match his personality where he can relax and retire in his golden years. She would likely do best with another dog in the house to help her learn the ropes! With people, Neela can be nervous and scared at first, but treats help fast track your way into her circle of friends. Your patience in getting to know her will be rewarded with a sweet, affectionate, attentive personality. Neela loves exploring on walks, but has been decent at walking on-leash. While she has her moments of goofy bounciness, she also settles nicely once she has had a chance to get out her yayas, and enjoys the opportunity to sit and watch the world go by while getting some pets or cuddles from a friend. Rizzo is estimated to be around a year old and weighs 46 lbs.

At just around a year old, Wishbone has plenty of goofy puppy energy and would love to find an active family that can keep up with him! Wishbone loves to romp and play and explore, but he has a tender and sweet side too. He takes treats gently and seems like a bright, attentive boy who just needs a little love and routine to really thrive. He’s a fun and friendly boy! With other dogs in play group, he was in our more “gentle and dainty” category but could very well open up with time to get to know another dog. Wishbone weighs 42 lbs but needs to fill out.

His treat catching skills need some work but he’s really good at the “find it” game when they bounce off his head. He loves to work for the treats and has shown us he knows some basic manner like sit, down, and mostly loose leash walking. He’s demonstrated that he is tuned into his handler – especially if they have treats – and wants to work on new skills. While outside, he has been happy to show off his tricks and relax in the grass when he didn’t have an audience. Plunket is estimated to be around 2 or 3 years old and weighs 60 stocky lbs. Plunket arrived at the kennel with heartworm disease. Fortunately, Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland covers the treatment cost. This involves only a couple steps to get a clean bill of health and a loving home where he can rest and recover post-treatment. In no time at all he’ll be on the road to living a normal happy life together!

This happy, handsome guy seems to enjoy all sorts of activities – play time in the yard, an exploratory walk with volunteers, and he has even been trying his paw at run club. Once he has a chance to burn some energy, though, Silas reveals the sweet and attentive boy within. He seems to enjoy taking frequent breaks to soak up pets and praise. In general, he seems eager to make friends with people, and will show off his attentive “sit” as soon as the treats come out. Based on his kennel patterns, it seems like Silas could be housebroken as well. Our strong, beefy bro would likely make a great new buddy for someone fun-loving and active who needs a little bit more cheer and cuddles in their life. Silas is estimated to be around 1.5 years old and weighs 50 lbs.

Sweet as can be, Mindy practically melts like sugar into your lap for some loving. She is a sensitive, soulful girl on the quieter side. Just a bit shy at first, she is generally quick to warm up and become affectionate, often by trying to crawl into your lap for some pets and love. This handsome pants is part sweet snuggly pants, and part curious explorer. Our clinic ladies especially love Kavon, as he has charmed them with his attentiveness and love of belly rubs (he just has to work on not getting too excited when receiving his pets!) He has a playful side too, and loves his toys. His curious side comes out when he is out on walks, during which time he goes into business mode, catching up on all the smells and news from his fellow dogs. He is easily distracted by all the hustle and bustle of the world. He has so far been playful and social with other dogs in play group. And if you love to take your dog with you around town, Kavon is an awesome copilot in the car. One of his favorite things is letting the wind blow through his ears as he watches the world go by.
