Adjectives used to describe the Bang and the Clatter Theatre Company's latest production — hilarious, jaw-dropping, vulgar, borderline insane — are about as varied as the eight short stories that make up the play. Each vignette in Pounding Nails in the Floor With My Forehead features a lone character, who tells his story in a rambling monologue. Oberlin College graduate Eric Bogosian's piece tests the limits of bad taste by taking audiences inside the heads of some of the fringe members of society: A bum rants about his bodily functions and his desire to secretly infect the upper class with his filth; a man attending Alcoholics Anonymous apologizes not for drinking too much, but for wanting sex. Your forehead will be fine, literary nails notwithstanding. But your brow might be heavy with sweat from all the laughter and a few eye-opening moments. Pounding Nails is at 3 p.m. Sundays and 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, through Sunday, December 30, at Summit Artspace, 140 East Market Street in Akron. Tickets are $15. Call 330-606-5317.
Sundays, 3 p.m.; Dec. 27-29, 8 p.m. Starts: Dec. 23. Continues through Dec. 30, 2007
