Dave's Planet settles for club domination.

Beer Drinkers in Space Showgirls: Fully Exposed Edition
Headlining gigs at local clubs and at the Cleveland Music Festival over the past year hasn't inflated the egos in local band Dave's Planet. In fact, the four members' everyday lives help keep them grounded. "We're all down-to-earth," says drummer Dave Vogrin. "But we take this just as seriously as our jobs."

The band returns to Peabody's tonight for its fifth concert. "I really see that our music is reaching a mass spread of audience," says Vogrin. The band draws its modern-rock sound from such radio favorites as 3 Doors Down and Staind. "We play a pretty good mix," says Vogrin, who quickly adds that the stage show, like the music, is gimmick-free. "You won't see us wearing masks and stuff."

What you will see — and hear — says Vogrin, is a band that flourishes onstage. "We're just four guys from Cleveland who love to play instruments and write good music," he says. "It seems to be working."
